South Side: A Limon Tradition
South Side Restaurant & Bar has been a Limon, Colorado staple for more than 50 years. Founded in 1972, South Side originally stood on 1st & E Ave., across from the historic railroad depot, serving the community as a pool hall and bar until it was destroyed by a tornado in 1990. Rebuilt in its current location in 1991, South Side has remained a local favorite for generations.
In 2025, South Side was fully renovated, refreshing its eclectic, nostalgic character while preserving the pieces that tell its story. Among them are the original 100+ year-old back bar and pool hall pieces dating back more than 145 years, along with the artwork, mirrors, and neons collected through the years- a connection to the past that remains part of South Side today.
South Side’s menu is centered around classic American favorites made from scratch. Our kitchen serves handcrafted burgers made with beef and bison from local ranches, fresh pizza dough, hand-battered chicken and onion rings, hand-cut fries, and more. Some traditions were simply too good to change. Pat’s famous cheese sticks and taco pizza remain on the menu, after decades as local favorites.
Behind the bar, you’ll find eight ice-cold, rotating taps, the largest draft selection in town, along with a signature craft cocktail menu featuring balanced, refreshing drinks that will make you want a refill.
There’s plenty to do while you’re here, too. Shoot a game of pool, play shuffleboard or cornhole, try your hand at our regulation horseshoe pit, relax around the fire pit, or enjoy a meal and a cold drink on our spacious, dog-friendly patio. Our favorite spot is in the rocking chairs under the Binzebo.
Whether you’re a long-time local, or just passing through Limon, stop in for fresh food, cold drinks, and a good time in a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere.
More than 50 years later, South Side is still a place to gather, unwind, and experience a little piece of Limon history.
