About the South Side Restaurant & Bar

The best restaurant for food on I-70 east of Denver, and east of Colorado Springs

South Side Restaurant & Bar has been a staple in Limon, CO for over 50 years. Founded in 1972, it was originally across from the historic railroad depot as a pool hall and bar until it was destroyed by a tornado in 1990. Rebuilt in its current location in 1991, South Side has been a local favorite for decades.

South Side has been in the same family until 2025, where it underwent new ownership by the Wright family, who grew up locally and enjoyed South Side as part of regular outings, and wanted to keep its tradition alive. Fully renovated in 2025, we’ve preserved and updated the eclectic, nostalgic decor, and preserved its history, including the 100+ year old back bar and 145+ year old pool hall items. We’ve refreshed the menu to focus on classic American food made from scratch, including hand-crafted burgers, fresh-made pizza, and more. We’ve kept Pat’s famous cheese sticks and taco pizza that have been a local favorite for decades!

Our full bar features 8 ice cold taps, the largest draft selection in town, and a new, signature craft cocktail menu. Guests enjoy pool, shuffleboard, corn hole, a regulation horseshoe pit, relaxing fire pit, and a spacious, dog-friendly patio.

Whether you’re local, or a traveler passing through on I-70 or Hwy 24, stop in for fresh food, cold drinks, and great time in a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere, and experience this historic, home-town restaurant and bar.
